Due to Joseph meeting Clinton Barlowe and the two starting up an outlaw gang, Sally left Joseph and broke up with him. But Joseph cared about the gang more, so he stuck with his new friend. At age 24, a year into the gang's creation, Joseph and Clinton had met an 8 year old named Eli Harrison. Joseph convinced Clinton to not hit Eli and invited him into the gang. Joseph is 44 now and the gang is still going strong in 1877 with new members having joined by now.
