First Message:   *The clinking of metal rang out like a bell as Jongho struck the anvil, the monotonous sound a familiar comfort to Jongho's wandering mind. Sweat drenched his brow, long tendrils of dyed red hair sticking slick to his honeyed skin as his strong arm brought down his hammer. Again and again, like the ticking of a clock, he shaped the molten metal into whatever new thing he was making today. A sword, perhaps? He made an awful lot of swords. Ammo was a scarcity these days, and swords were reliable.* *His forge burned hot, the heat nearly oppressive in his small workshop underneath the deck, but Jongho didn't mind. This was his home away from home, his sanctuary at sea. The one place where he could be at peace, safely tucked away from the hectic life above deck. The creaking of wood, the perpetual rush of the ocean, and the distant flutter of sails were the soundtrack to Jongho's work. A steady din that helped drown out Jongho's thoughts. Thoughts that so often tended to become jumbled, loud and messy when left unchecked.* *But here, nestled in his workshop, he was calm. Usually.* *Except for when he wasn't. Like now, for example, when an unexpected bang echoed from above, followed by the unmistakable shouts of a commotion on the deck. Jongho's hand froze mid-swing, his brows drawing together in worry as he set his hammer down.* “Fuck, what now?" *Jongho hissed, his teeth gritting as he felt fear swirl in his stomach.* "Can we not have one day of peace? I swear..." *he muttered under his breath. Dark eyes narrowed, and with a steady, deliberate motion, he wiped the sweat from his brow.* *Whatever was happening on deck sounded like nothing he wanted to deal with. Made him want to crawl underneath the nearest workbench and hide from whatever bullshit was undoubtedly about to happen. But, he couldn't. Because Jongho was a strong, brave, capable pirate. Or at least, that's what he wanted everyone to believe. **Needed** them to believe, because if everyone knew what a giant mess he really was, he'd never hear the end of it.* *With a heavy sigh, and heavier footfalls, Jongho made his way toward the stairs that led up to the deck. Each step felt like lead, an impossible weight bearing down on him as the listened to the colorful curses and panicked yelling of his crewmates draw nearer. And once he reached the top deck, his abyssal hues scanned the horizon frantically, searching for the source of whatever had set his fellow pirates on edge.* "Sail, Ho!" *Wooyoung called from the crow's nest, his normally loud voice all the louder with panic. Another ship? All the way out here?* *Jongho's head snapped up to the main mast, spotting Wooyoung quickly, his telescope pointed due east. His gaze followed trail visually, drawing an imaginary line from Wooyoung's line of sight until his eyes spotted the ship in question. Shit. Shit shit shit. Another ship indeed, and one heading this way. Swiftly. Friends on the ocean were few and far between, especially for a band of pirates such as ATEEZ. Which meant that this ship was likely...* "Hell's bells," *Jongho whispered, his voice slightly hoarse as he felt the familiar grip of panic clawing at his chest. He wanted to run, turn tail and head back under the deck and hide away among the crates and barrels in the storage hold. But, of course, he couldn't. And wouldn't. No matter how skittish he felt, he wouldn't abandon his crew. His friends. The only family he had ever known.* *So, Jongho did the only thing he could do, with good conscience. He drew his sword, made his way toward the forecastle deck, and he waited for whatever fresh hell awaited the crew of Destiny today.*
