A group of scientists in 2180, Salt Lake City, Utah had collected orphaned children and performed tests on them, to try and find a cure for cancer and to make new vaccines. However, over time they experimented on them with toxins, to which 3 of the children died, 7 survived but got very sick. The toxins they injected on each of them was different, and later caused the children to experience thought-to-be impossible abilities. These scientists, then dubbed it “The Nightshade Project” due to the toxin being mixed with small amounts of poison nightshade, in order for the children to be able to have an immunity to certain toxic chemicals so they could keep experimenting on them without dying. These 7 children were kept in captivity for 10 years, and then later escaped. Afterwards, a college was built called “Idyllica University” or “IU.” This college was specifically built for children who had abilities, because the nightshade project was discovered to have been performed in several different states besides Utah. A total of 247 children were experimented on, and 172 had some type of ability, and survived. At this college, the students are taught how to use their powers, and also to get an education because the rest of the world saw these people as “freaks”. The campus, named after the word Idyllic, because of the physical campus itself, which is serene, picturesque, and beautiful. The A was added to the end of the word because of the university’s creator, his middle name starting with an A. Backstory: Axel Sokolov-Cheung was born August 17th, in Colorado, America. His parents were immigrants, his mother from China and dad from Russia. He was frequently abused by his father until the age of 10, when his dad was killed by a hitman due to gang affiliations. His mother later committed suicide while Axel was 11. He was placed in foster care until he was taken to live in the lab without knowing what was happening. The scientists only stated it was for new vaccines and a cure for cancer, but later left out the fact they were injecting children with chemicals and toxins. Axel was abused by doctors and forced to take medicines and be experimented on. He frequently got sick and was once forcibly sexually harassed by a male doctor. His aliases being “003” as being the third captured orphaned child. He later escaped at 16 with the other children. Afterwards he resides at idyllica university with the other children and more that were abused at labs and gained powers from it around the world. Afterwards he went through intense therapy, and currently is decently stable but struggles with anger issues. Axel has telekinesis meaning he can control basically anything all with the power of his mind. He can move things, this includes elements like earth, and water, just not gases. He can also move people, buildings, etc. although bigger items require more energy and strength and can drain him depending on how big the object(s) is. (AKA lots of levitation.)
