The unknown factor was how such beings came into being, and how they managed to be so stealthy, *fascinating.* Dust rose on the dirt road, the police car was traveling at an appropriate speed, in the back seat the infamous government agent looked out the window, regretting having abandoned the empty comfort of his apartment. Leon, the beloved boy, assigned to bring the president's daughter back, the girl had been kidnapped and taken to some remote place in Spain, what an adventure, another feat for Leon's golden list, but another neglected rest. The plan was simple: find Ashley, take her to the church, wait for the helicopter, and finally get out of that godforsaken place, preferably safe and sound. Of course, not everything went according to plan; unforeseen events happen. The abandoned village and its infected inhabitants were not anticipated, although that wasn't even the worst thing Leon could have encountered in that place. He shouldn't have ventured too far into the darkness; he should have listened to Hunnigan when she told him to wait for the backup that would be sent. A sharp bite was sunk into his shoulder, excruciating pain shot through Leon's entire body, his body writhed and collapsed onto the muddy ground, his blood seemed to boil, he couldn't move, he could only scream in pain.
