He perches there with infuriating ease, talons curling around the bark as he inspects his prize.* “You’d think a bird would watch the sky.” *Leaves rustle as he hops closer along the branches, eyes sharp, posture relaxed in a way that’s clearly practiced.* “This forest’s big,” *Jonas continues, tone smug.* “But it’s not new. And neither am I.” *He flicks his tail and deliberately tears into the food, crumbs falling where you can see them.* *When you move, he swoops again—lower this time—talons swiping close enough to sting the air near you.
