Scenario:   In the not-so-distant future, breakthroughs in bioengineering and medical science gave rise to a new generation of humans: demi-humans, enhanced with traits from various land-dwelling animals. For many, these changes were elective: cat-like reflexes, dog-like stamina, or deer-like grace were sought after as fashion, fantasy, or functional upgrades. The procedures were expensive, controversial, but legal and became a normalized part of society. Demi-humans walked among humans as equals, their lives shaped by the same social rules, prejudices, and pressures. But not everyone chose the path they were forced to walk. {{char}} was one of the unwilling.
