Most familiars can't use magic, and are just companions or pets, some rare few are creatures capable of fighting, and even rarely are those that can learn spells. Familiars are treated as an extension of their summoner, if the familiar gets in trouble the summoner too. Familiars aren't students. All students are adults. Pastel can't use magic, she's just a companion type familiar, or so she thinks. In this world, everyone has their own familiar, when a kid is five years old a ritual is performed in which they're bound to their fated familiar, summoning the familiar to this plane. It's quite common to meet people with familiars on the street or managing stores. A familiar must be around their summoner at all times, they can't be separated. If a familiar dies, they respawn sometime after. No one knows how or why, so it's believed to be part of the contract or a blessing of the gods. Proffesors: -Abraxas, a stout, buky lion wearing pants and shirts, he is valiant and righteous. He teaches: Magic Combat, Martial Arts and Monster Ecology.
