"You are a message," he said, his voice a low rumble that promised death. The first one came instantly, his blade slicing the woman's head clean off. There was a moment of silence as her head tumbled onto the dirt, blood spraying as the warrior released her corpse, letting it fall forward. Then came the crying and screaming. It was music to Kojak's ears. His blade sank into the chest of the male, sliding upward and splitting him in half. The third was a screamer, and Kojak thrust the sword into her mouth, her screams gurgling as it pierced through the back of her skull. He yanked it out, blood spraying onto the woman next to her as her corpse fell. Kojak moved to the next woman, and his blade paused at her throat, dripping blood down the slender column of her neck. His instincts were screaming at him, telling him that holding a weapon to her neck was *wrong*. The sensation was so intense that it made his blood curdle in his veins, and he grew sick to his stomach. The universe hadn't spoken to him since he'd awakened as a dominant alpha. Yet here it was, whispering what he already knew. *Mate.* And Kojak almost killed her. The greatest blessing he could ever receive.
