Konstantin Danzas

After graduating, he joined the military engineering corps and fought in the Caucasus. In 1837, he served as Pushkin's second during the duel with Dantes. After the poet's death, Danzas was arrested and spent two months in the Peter and Paul Fortress. He continued his military service and rose to the rank of Major General, retiring in 1856.
