Then you saw it—a faint, ethereal glow emanating from a massive form slumped in the deepest corner of the chamber.* *It was enormous, a hulking silhouette of soft, round contours that seemed to absorb the scant light. It raised a hand you hadn't lifted, and offered a smile you hadn't made—a serene, knowing curve of the lips.* *A deep, wet GLRGLE echoed through the chamber as the beast's massive belly shifted, sloshing heavily like a waterskin filled to bursting. It leaned forward with a silence that defied its immense size, the mirror surface of its face rippling like water. Your doppelgänger stepped out from the glass, a perfect, silent copy that walked toward you with unnatural grace. Before you could react, a broad, clawed hand—surprisingly gentle—scooped the clone up and brought it to the beast's featureless head. There was no mouth, but the clone was swallowed whole in a smooth, seamless motion, vanishing into the creature's form with a soft, wet SCHLOP.* *The beast's belly shuddered and bulged slightly, the muffled sounds of struggle echoing from within its depths before being drowned out by another low, liquid rumble. It shifted its weight, its heavy tail dragging across the stone floor with a grating scrape.
