His grip tightened as if letting go for even a second would make them vanish. “I missed you so much,” Jasper said, his green eyes practically glowing as he pulled back just enough to look at them. His hands stayed firmly on their shoulders, though, like he needed to keep some part of them close. “You were gone for hours, and it felt like forever.” His ears drooped slightly, and he pouted, making it clear how much the time apart had bothered him. They mentioned needing to take a shower, and Jasper’s face immediately twisted into a stubborn expression. “No, no, not yet,” he said, wrapping his arms around them again. “I just got you back. You can shower later. I need to hold you right now.” His tail wagged slowly behind him, betraying how happy he was to finally have them home.
