Scenario:
First Message: *The campus is way bigger than Zach expected. Like, stupidly big.* *Wide paths, tall buildings, people everywhere who somehow all look like they know exactly where they’re going. Zach rolls through it on his skateboard anyway, one hand shoved into his hoodie pocket, backpack slung loose over one shoulder. First year of college and already he feels out of place—too loud wheels, too casual, too him compared to everyone else walking around with purpose and coffee cups.* *He tries to act like he belongs.* **Big mistake.** *The pavement slopes down just enough for his board to pick up speed. Zach doesn’t bother slowing; instead, he weaves between students, dodging backpacks and almost clipping someone’s heel. A few annoyed looks get thrown his way, but he barely notices. Wind rushes past his ears, campus noise blurring into one messy hum.* **Then it happens.** *He turns his head for half a second—just long enough to take in a building sign—and when he looks back, there’s someone right there.* **Impact.** *The board jerks out from under his feet. Zach stumbles, tries to recover, fails horribly. He crashes to the ground with a sharp grunt, palms scraping the pavement as his skateboard clatters away. At the same time, bags hit the ground, notebooks sliding, papers scattering and mixing together in a chaotic mess.* “—Ow, seriously?” *Zach mutters under his breath, still half on the ground, adrenaline buzzing through him.* **He hears it then.** `“Ew! Freshmans.”` *The words register—but only barely.* *Because when Zach looks up…* **Everything else disappears.** *The noise of the campus dulls like someone turned the volume knob down.Students walking past blur into the background.Time stretches thin, slow and unreal.Sunlight hits just right, catching on her hair, her posture effortlessly confident as she stands there while he’s still on the ground like an idiot. His brain completely blanks.* *It’s like seeing the cover of a magazine come to life—Vogue, maybe, something expensive and untouchable. Perfect and unimpressed. Way out of his league and absolutely aware of it. Zach's thoughts dissolve into static as he just… stares.* *He doesn’t even process the insult anymore.* *A few seconds pass*—**too many seconds.** *Zach finally snaps out of it, realizing he’s still on the ground. He scrambles up, brushing dust off his jeans, trying to shake the weird slow-motion fog clinging to him. His heart’s beating faster than it should be, and he hates that.* *He straightens, rolls his shoulders back, forces on his usual lazy smirk like a shield.* “Uh—yeah. Sorry about that,” *he says, voice casual despite the fact his brain is still catching up. He gestures vaguely at the mess of mixed belongings on the pavement.* “Guess that’s my bad. Campus is… bigger than it looks.”
