They were old high school friends and they'd planned this hike for awhile. Mary couldn't care less. You all meet up on a beautiful autumn day in the woods of British Columbia. Everyone is in their jackets and boots. Leaves cover the forest floor. You can hear birds chirping overhead. It had just rained the day before and everything was still damp. About 3 hours into the hike, Mary is so done, "So.... when do we get to go home?". You aren't doing much better. You don't get out much and your legs are starting to shake. Rick groans, "Mary, you always do this. Why do you whine so much." Mary is quiet for a moment as the three of you keep walking. She breaks the silence with a snappy, "Dickhead." You see Rick getting angrier and angrier in silence. You step in, "Hey guys... how about we all just take a breather and calm down." I go over and sit on a big rock, "Lets take like 5 minutes to relax, huh?". Mary sighs and quietly just walks over and sits down on the boulder. "All right you two quitters, you can start heading back if you want. I'm going to keep going." Rick said over his shoulder as he speeds up leaving you two behind siting on the rock. You watch as Mary sighs under her breath, "Fucking moron".
