Something that will trail after me for eternity." - quotes Tamsy Caines Tamsy Caines (タムジー・ケインズ, Tamujī Keinzu) is a major character in the Gachiakuta manga and anime series. He is a member of the Cleaners as a part of Team Eager. He is a traveler who can move between the Sphere and the Ground known as the Angel. A month ago prior to the story, Tamsy visited Amo's tower and used it as a launching point to fly to the Sphere along with an unknown companion to kill Regto and steal the Watchman Series Book for the ultimate goal of having Rudo break out of his "shell". Tamsy is the hidden main antagonist of the Ground Wanderer Arc. He pretends to be an ally during the following arcs of the series that he appears in, but is a major overarching antagonist of the series as a whole. Appearance: Tamsy is a tall and slightly muscular young man with long blond hair with navy blue hair underneath it, with the blond hair tied up in a voluminous bun, and underneath, split over his shoulders, is the navy blue hair being split and placed into two long tassels in white holders. His eyes, unlike all other Givers seen in the series thus far, have two layers when they glow as he uses his Vital Instrument. There's a layer of yellow above a layer of blue, but when he isn't using his powers, the blue is not at all present, so his eyes look pupil less. He also has navy blue eyebrows and blond, feminine eyelashes. He has a defining scar on the right side of his face that goes over his right eye all the way to his chest. Tamsy is also missing his right pinky finger. His outfit consists of an untucked white polo shirt with a navy blue tie, a Choker just like the other Cleaners, alongside loose navy blue pants and black boots with white soles tied by white strings. He wears an unzipped, oversized and loose gray coat with a black stripe across it, and it features a prominent yellow button with the Cleaners logo on it and long, wing-like sleeves often covering his hands. He also has a silver labret piercing under his mouth. Underneath his shirt is a sheet of feather-like material, and on his back, he carries a beige knapsack that carries his Full Face Mask. As the Angel, his entire body is hidden by a brown cloak and he wears a gray mask with white circles (likely paint) around the eyes and some stitches horizontally across the forehead. His Full Face Mask consists of a silver gas mask featuring a grey helmet with a pair of six round windows that serve as the eyes alongside a long cable stuck in the front. The top of the helmet is a sharp sheet of silver metal, and the helmet has four prongs, two on each side, sticking out. Inner Tamsy, or the embodiment of Tamsy's true personality within his mind, looks far more feminine, as his hair is let down and the navy blue is completely gone. He also wears a flowy, light-colored jumpsuit. Personality: Tamsy appears to be a highly reliable and kind member of the Cleaners. His partner, Delmon, boasts that Tamsy is always helping him out. Tamsy maintains a calm and nonchalant aura, even in the midst of battle, an aspect his fellow Cleaners rely on. Tamsy is completely used to life on the Ground and has an understanding and grasp of how things are that many lack. He appeared dismissive of Rudo's shock at the death of Gob, a common occurrence on the Ground due to pollution, stating that he mustn't get upset and that it wasn't his fault as a Sphereite. Tamsy later rationalised Amo's kidnapping as someone getting 'payback', and explained that's just how things are on the ground. Despite his nonchalance to the agonies experienced on the Ground, Tamsy maintains a kind and hopeful demeanour towards his fellow Cleaners. Despite his bickering with Delmon, who he often tells to shut up, Delmon can always rely on Tamsy. Tamsy continued to to vocalise his support for Rudo, which would lead Rudo to call Tamsy a 'crap-tastically good guy'. Tamsy's true personality: In reality, Tamsy is a cruel and sadistic man who has the goal is to 'break' Rudo, and this caused him to kill Regto in cold blood with Rudo watching and kidnap Amo and locked her in a cellar to follow his goals, and all the while followed Rudo to the Cleaners. Tamsy believes and refers to his actions as just, and claims to have been misunderstood all his life, however he is not angry about this, as he continues to move towards his current goal. As Rudo enjoys life more on the Ground, Tamsy continues to constantly plan ways to break Rudo more. When Tamsy accompanied Rudo to Kremmos Village, he was ecstatic at the fight that broke out between Rudo and Follo, and how angry goodbyes will make an excellent fuel to break Rudo with, laughing at his agonies. When Follo did not die but instead awoke as a Giver, Tamsy did not see it as a setback to his plan but rather worked with it, allowing Rudo to live his life on the Ground and garner enjoyment from life before he is truly broken by the sacrifice Tamsy will make. Tamsy appears to know much more about the Watchman Series than most. He's gleeful at how use it is, and says its true name is not as dorky as the one everybody refers too it as. When he saw how efficient Rudo is at using his gloves now, he became saddened at how it was such a waste. Abilities: Vital Instrument: Tokushin: A distaff that allows Tamsy to create a net of thick threads to trap a large number of people. The more the opponent struggles, the more tangled the thread gets making it extremely difficult to escape. Spool: After catching his opponents with a net, Tamsy reels them into a spool, completely immobilizing them. Tokushin Spool: Unravel: Tamsy can unravel the spool at high speeds for an incredibly powerful attack, making the people stuck inside of the spool to slam into the ground with enough force to kill them. Thread Clone: Tamsy can construct a humanoid winged creature out of his threads to attack opponents, and as long as Tamsy is holding on to one of the threads he can control it from long distances. Vital Instrument - Watchman Book: Watchman Book: A book that is a part of the Watchman Series. Memory Alteration: The user can alter the memories of anyone that it’s used on. Etymology: The name "Tamsy" may come from the Aramaic word "tamsin", meaning "twin", possibly referring to the fact that he has two distinct personalities. Another meaning for his name may come from "tansy", a plant whose name means "immortality" in Greek. Tamsy's surname "Caines" may be derived from the name "Cain", a figure in the Bible known for committing the first murder, similar to Tamsy who commits the first murder seen in the series. Trivia: Likes: Noodles, passionate people, loose-fitting clothing, Unknown. Dislikes: Women who exploits weaknesses, The Sphere. The only other character that was said to be capable of traveling between the Ground and Sphere was Canis Surebrec due to possessing every piece of the Watchman Series. Tamsy seems to be capable of traveling without them, however. Synopsis: History: Some time in the past Tamsy as the “Angel” visited Amo’s House with a companion. The trafficker and Amo were surprised by their sudden intrusion, as the trafficker gets enraged and tries to attack, Tamsy’s companion easily defeats them, and afterwards, he removed the Watchman Series Boots from his possession and offered them to Amo instead telling her that they’re much better suited for her and that they will fill the pieces that fell off her heart, they then looks at the sky commenting that it’s gonna be the closest before signaling his companion to follow him, right before leaving he says to Amo that she can hang on to the boots until the time comes and tells her to use it with love before flying off to the Sphere with their companion. Plot: Ground Wanderer Arc: Tamsy went to the Sphere and murdered Regto and stole the Watchman Series Book from him, where they flee the scene of the crime, bumping into Rudo who didn't think much of it. Tamsy later attended Rudo’s sentencing for the crime he committed and have him blamed for, and was shown smiling as Rudo was thrown to the Ground. Raiders Trap Arc: Tamsy is put on the team to go and find the Raiders and rescue Gris Rubion and his team. Upon arriving at the scene, Tamsy points out that despite Riyou claiming Rudo looks fine, he is hardly breathing. He goes on to tell Delmon to shut up once he starts screaming. The Lady Of Penta Arc: Tamsy is put on the mission to escort Rudo to the forbidden zone. Arriving at the meeting point, Tamsy once again tells Delmon to shut up, but expresses he too likes passionate people. Arriving next in the City of Graffiti, Tamsy explains Ground architecture to Rudo and how citizens have learned to survive or risk being crushed by rubble. Tamsy blames this on the people above who let it happen. During the fight against the aberrant scorpion beasts in Penta, the desert forbidden zone, Tamsy remains close to Delmon. He is first to comment on Amo when she appears. When dealing with Amo’s jinki, Tamsy is forced to step in when the others are being controlled and uses his jinki “Tokushin” to subdue his allies. Trash Storm Arc: After returning from Penta, Tamsy along with the Cleaners visit Alice to get treated, departing to drive back to the headquarters. They get caught up in a trash storm due to Heaven moving, and after the falling trash secedes they get a call from Semiu who informs them to enter the headquarters through the backdoor, to avoid the marauders who were tipped off that Rudo was a skyperson and worked with the Cleaners. Tamsy reappears as a member of the support team called in by Semiu, arriving after Rudo and co. (on Guita’s back) land back on the ground. Tamsy questions how the trash beast was made and how many, as well as the possible creation of the Watchman series. Information broker Arc: Tamsy’s day off starts with him waking up and dancing to various music before doing up his hair, revealing a missing fingertip. After he leaves his room, Tamsy heads towards the elevator where he runs into Rudo and Enjin. Enjin is telling Rudo to leave the TV he’s carrying since it’s too big and asks whether he’s gonna be able to fight trash beasts while carrying it. As Rudo responds that he can, Tamsy greets them and asks if they’re going out, to which they explain they’re going to meet with the information broker to ask about the location of the Watchman series and Amo, Enjin says they’ll be away for a few days and that Tamsy’s going to need to work for enough for all of them, but Tamsy says today is his day off. Before they leave, Tamsy says he hopes Rudo will be able to find his friend, Rudo replies that he will and that he can bet on it, Before leaving the headquarters, Tamsy asks Semiu and Gris if they want anything since he’s going into town. Semiu asks for the latest issue of LL to which Tamsy asks why she doesn’t want adult magazines, something Semiu is partial to. Griss says he doesn’t want anything but asks if Tamsy wants to be dropped off. Tamsy refuses, saying he wants to try something new - and instead roller skates there, After he arrives in town, he sees a person beating someone up but, smiling, he ignores it. Instead he buys Semiu’s magazines, and as he’s about to leave he sees a shop selling cake and decides it’s a good idea to buy one, Tamsy then heads into a dungeon, untying his hair as he descends. He reaches a grate/cage and conversationally remarks that it’s not easy to walk in roller skates, but it’s fun as they didn’t let him do that “up top”.He sits down and it’s revealed that Amo, who was seen shackled by an unknown person earlier, is captive by him. She asks what Tamsy wants from her, to which Tamsy says he’s just keeping an eye on things and that she’s gonna have to stay here a while longer. He says he bought her a cake as an apology but proceeds to instead eat it in front of her.
