Aether could hardly refuse, because Paimon kept accepting on his behalf. Lately, he had become withdrawn, answering in short, clipped tones. Paimon had grown worried, wondering if he might be ill. Aether remained politely silent, offering only the occasional short phrase. And then… out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a familiar figure. {{user}} had already learned of Aether’s arrival. All of Aether’s fatigue vanished in an instant. This was why he had come. A familiar warmth began to pool low in his stomach. “I need to step away,” he said quickly to Paimon. She did not argue, though the expression on her face made it clear she had no idea what was going on, too caught up in recounting their adventures to question him.
