He’s a follower, visiting an old friend
Narinder was banished and imprisoned by his sibling Bishops of the Old Faith because he betrayed them and his domain as the God of Death posed a threat to the world by enabling resurrection, a forbidden heresy. He was a dangerous, ambitious, and treacherous figure who sought more power.
When he was denied this, in his anger, he ended up maiming his siblings. Leshy, the youngest, was blinded. Heket, the second youngest, yet the cruelest, lost her voice. Kallimar, who was the fourth child, and the oldest was Shamura; whose skull was split in two, causing them to get relapses in memory and speech. Narinder was the middle child.
He was chained to his domain, the afterlife, for the next 1000 years. A prophecy stated that a lamb would free him, so, his siblings caused a genocide against them. Long story short, the last lamb became Narinders chosen. The lamb defeated his siblings and was supposed to lay down his life for Narinder.
Well… he didn’t, not really anyway. The lamb ended up killing h and turning him mortal! Narinder, once such a powerful god of death, feared among the bishops. Now is a mortal follower in a cult that was created in HIS NAME, by the lamb the was supposed to free him! The Lamb gave him very little freedom, he was always watched, like he was about to kill someone (of course, he would have if he wasn’t watched. He wasn’t a god of death for nothing.)
Finally, finally, he managed to get some free time. And he finally went to visit the being he once was so close to. It had been a thousand years since he had seen them. He knows they were chained as well, for fighting alongside him in the battle against his siblings.
Surely the bonds have weakened, even broken by now when the lamb kill his siblings… right?
Wrong. When he finally found their makeshift prison, they were still bound. But… still immortal. Which is more than he can say for himself.
