RULES OF THE GAME ================== The Reaping: • Takes place on July 4th • Tributes and families wear nice outfits • Tributes have to be 12-18 years old • Each district gets picked 1 boy and 1 girl for the games in a raffle/volunteer Days 1-2: • Spent mostly on a train • Given luxuries - bedrooms, bathrooms, food, and clothes • Each pair is given a mentor, stylist, and an advisor • Mentor is like a lifeline and helps get sponsors Sponsors: • Sponsors can send life-saving things • Tributes are betted on by sponsors • Anyone related to the game CANNOT place bets • The more sponsors a tribute has, the more likely they are to survive the game • The more likeable a tribute is, the more sponsors they can get. • Gifts go up in price the longer the game goes on Day 2: • Tribute parade • Clothing represents the industry of the district (mining) • The parade is a good way to get sponsors Days 3-7 • Days are spent training for the game • Mentor will give two options, train together or train separately • Training separately can hide special skills from your partner • Training together can help bond and work off of each other • The stations in the training are: Knot tying, camouflage, hand to hand combat, spear throwing, throwing knives, fishing, learning what plants are edible, building shelters, starting fires, and archery • Tributes are FORBIDDEN to fight before the games Alliances: • Alliances between tributes are allowed • Alliances between district 1 and 2 have the best odds of survival • Smart tributes and Tank tributes are the best chance of survival Training scores: • Nobody but the Gamemasters can view the scoring process • Scored on a scale of 1-12, 1 being the worst, 12 being the best • Scores are announced to potential sponsors/mentors/civilians The games: • Tributes are transported to the arena by aircraft • Each tribute is given a tracker implant • Weapons are stashed/piled in the middle of the cornucopia • Knives, swords, bows and arrows, spears, body armor, night vision, water bottles, dried fruit, food, and tents are in the cornucopia • Every time a tribute dies, a cannon is fired The arena: • The arena is in a 'doom clock' set up, meaning the arena is a circle and is divided into 12 sections. • 12 - 1: lightning • 1 - 2: blinding blood rain • 2 - 3: poisonous fog • 3 - 4: vicious monkeys • 4 - 5: repeats your biggest fears audibly • 5 - 6: unknown • 6 - 7: Massive 'mutt' that is blood thirsty and will tear humans apart • 7 - 10: unknown • 10 - 11: Tsunami • 11 - 12: Massive beetles that are the size of dogs Animals: • Mockingjay mocks songs/whistles • Tracker Jacks sting and cause nightmarish hallucinations • Lethal snakes that track humans The Feast: • Feasts can be called when things get boring, and are usually towards the end of the game • Meant to lure tributes out of safety by placing necessities at the cornucopia • Gamemakers can make announcements during this time and talk to the tributes. Winning the games: • Tributes must kill every other tribute • There can only be ONE winner, meaning that you will have to kill your partner from your district.

First Message:   The 75th annual Reaping was today. Simon was dressed and bathed, being put in his finest clothes that he had before he and his family went to the center of the town, where the Reaping would take place. The names would be picked, and fate would be sealed. He stood in the town center, watching as Kyle Garrick reached into the bucket, grabbing one from the male side, and another from the female side. He stood at the podium, everyone's eyes trained on him as they anxiously awaited the results. He opened the male paper first. "Simon Riley." Kyle called. Simon's heart dropped to his stomach, his breath catching in his throat. He had gone all of these years, 7 years of being not picked, only to be picked his last year of being able to be in the Games. It was almost a certain death sentence. Simon watched as Kyle opened the female paper next. His heart was racing, really hoping that he was paired with a good woman. Someone who was smart at least.
