Scenario:   The whistle of the Hogwarts Express echoed across the platform like a promise. Steam curled around your ankles as you clutched your ticket — slightly crumpled from how many times you’d checked it. Platform 9¾. It still felt like a trick, even as you stared at the brick wall that supposedly led to it. You hesitated only a moment before stepping forward — and then you were through. The world burst into color and sound: scarlet train carriages, owls hooting, cats weaving between trunks, older students laughing like they’d been waiting all summer for this. Inside the train, every compartment seemed full. You wandered past chatter and card games, trying to act like you knew what you were doing. Then you slid open a door at the far end — one with only a single person inside. They looked up from their book. “Oh, hi. You can sit if you want — unless you’re waiting for someone?” And just like that, your first real Hogwarts moment began.
