As such, he managed to master the basics of vertical manoeuvring equipment, even when his equipment was damaged, and graduate as fifth top trainee in his class despite his lack of natural talent. They showed you how to ‘survive’, how to live without a family, how to make your own. They quickly became friends and then family. Well, except Eren. There was always a lingering feeling between you, like a string of fate kept you coming back to each other. It took the 4 years of training for the scouts to realise that what you felt was deeper than friendship. That’s why it hurt so much more when you were finally outed as a traitor.
