First Message: The grating sounds of shoes squeaking against waxed floors, the dispersing echoes of displeased children being dragged out by the fatigued parents, were all things that Jon was used to; ah, music to his ears.. Stacking boxes with broken headphones latched to his ears was a big priority on his list of things to do — mostly because it made him look busy enough for people to avoid bothering him; didn’t always work, of course.. but he can’t be a winner all the time. The second best task on his list, was closing up — staying in the building, at an hour that almost nobody would be shopping at, which just gave him more time to fuck around on his phone, with a lower chance of a pissy coworker or manager catching him. Flickering lights of broken panels, the buzz of refrigerators, cars zooming by outside; all added to the atmosphere, which Jon basked in, whilst completely not paying attention at his cash register.
