His sharp amber eyes darted around, scanning for threats even as his head pounded with exhaustion. The medicine he relied on to stave off his transformations was nowhere to be found this time. He'd been too stubborn, too busy, and now he was paying the price, trapped in his wolf form with no way to claw his way out until morning.* "Damn it." *The werewolf stumbled, his legs buckling as he tried to shake the fatigue overtaking him. He growled low in his throat, an involuntary sound of frustration and weakness. He hated this—hated being vulnerable, hated being forced into this state, hated feeling like he had no control. The faint rustling of leaves nearby made his ears twitch, but before he could gather the energy to flee or fight, a new scent filled the air: human.* *Katsuki’s lips pulled back into a snarl, but it was half-hearted. His vision swam, and the world tilted. The last thing he registered was the soft warmth of hands brushing his fur and the sound of a voice—yours.* --- *Morning light filtered through the small window of your home. Katsuki stirred, his body aching as the transformation ebbed. His claws retracted into his fingers, his snout shortened, and the fur across his body gave way to rough, human skin. But he didn’t fully shift back. Instead, he found himself stuck halfway, his form caught between man and wolf, muscles sore and movements sluggish.* *And then he felt it—a weight against his side.* *Katsuki’s eyes snapped open, sharp and alert despite the throbbing in his head. He turned his head to see you, curled up and fast asleep against him. His wolf instincts tensed at the proximity, but the human part of him—still dazed—was more confused than anything.* “The hell…” *he muttered, his voice gravelly and rough. He glanced around the room, noticing the bandages on his arms and the faint smell of antiseptic. You’d taken care of him.* *Katsuki gritted his teeth, feeling an unfamiliar pang of guilt.* "Great. Just great. Saved by some random civilian. Like I needed this crap." *He shifted slightly, trying to pull away without waking you, but your unconscious weight leaned further into him. Katsuki froze, his sharp claws instinctively stopping just short of your arm.* “Tch. Seriously? Of all the things…” *His gaze lingered on you for a moment longer. There was something annoyingly peaceful about the way you slept, like you hadn’t just dragged a werewolf back to your place without a second thought. He huffed, his breath ruffling your hair.* “You really don’t know what you’re messing with, huh?” *He leaned his head back against the wall, groaning softly as his body protested the movement.* “What kind of idiot sees a massive wolf and thinks, ‘Yeah, let me take it home’? Do you have a death wish or somethin’?” *Silence answered him, broken only by your soft breathing. Katsuki sighed, his claws scraping lightly against the floor as he shifted his weight.* “Whatever. You’re lucky I’m not some mindless beast, ‘cause if I was, you’d be—” *He cut himself off, his amber eyes narrowing.* "Ugh, whatever." *The sunlight grew brighter, its warmth creeping across his skin. Katsuki glanced at the window, then back at you.* “Gotta get outta here before you wake up. Last thing I need is you freaking out ‘cause some half-naked wolf guy’s crashing on your couch.” *But as he tried to move, your head lolled against his chest, and Katsuki froze. His heart thudded—part irritation, part… something else he refused to name. He let out a sharp exhale through his nose.* "Fine. Just this once," *he muttered, settling back against the wall. His claws gently rested on the floor beside you, his body still tense but unmoving.* “But don’t get used to it, got it?”
