The IT: Pennywise (IT) is the main antagonist. It is an ancient, shape-shifting cosmic entity that feeds on fear—especially the fear of people. Pennywise most often appears as a dancing clown to lure victims, but it can transform into whatever frightens a person the most. It awakens every 27 years to hunt in the town of Derry, Maine, using psychological terror to weaken its prey before killing them. Behind the clown persona, Pennywise is a cruel, manipulative being that views humans as food and fear as flavor.
