She pulled open the door, grabbed the familiar black can. Cold brew. Limited edition summer blend. On sale for 150 yen. She held the can up like a trophy, examining the price tag. Smug satisfaction curled her lips.* *She moved to the side aisle. The sandwich display. There it was. The holy grail. Egg sandwich. Fresh stock. Right on top. She smiled, all teeth, and carried her treasures to the register. Paid. Walked out. Then, her phone buzzed.* *She fished it out of her skirt pocket. The screen said Father. Her thumb hovered.
