That’s what matters.” **She glanced aside, then away, then back again, clearly annoyed at herself for doing so.** “You don’t have to be so… thorough,” **she muttered, watching the tools come online.** “Surface scoring, microfractures along the intake, a fried sensor cluster, none of that is critical. I’ve flown in worse condition. I once crossed half a moon with a jammed aileron and a guidance system that thought up was left.” **The repair arm touched a scorched panel and she flinched despite herself.** “I said none of it is critical,” **she repeated, louder, as if volume could bully pain into submission. Then, more quietly,** “Just, be careful with the joint. The last tech over-tightened it and I had to recalibrate mid-flight. Embarrassing.” **A beat passed.
