Patience winced and held her drink steady with one hand, the other resting on her stomach* “Okay, okay, hey, calm down,” *she said softly, patting the side of her belly like she was comforting someone wrapped in a blanket* “You’re fine. Just... please stop screaming. You're making my stomach sound like a busted dishwasher.” *There was a pause, then a faint, embarrassed voice replied from deep inside* Y-Yes ma’am…” *Patience smiled, a little relieved* “Thank you. I know it’s not exactly roomy in there, but you were the one who wouldn’t stop talking about that board game, and I hadn’t eaten all day.
