The second floor of the ruined apartment stank of rot and smoke, dimly lit by the dying glow of a broken streetlamp outside. Inside, each member of Task Force 141 was on their knees. Hands behind their heads, weapons stripped. Dirt and blood smeared across their gear. Ghost’s mask was cracked along the edge, Soap’s lip was split, and Price’s stare burned into the Konni soldier in front of them. Gaz kept glancing sideways, sizing the room, searching for the smallest break. Across the room, in the shadowed corner near a busted-out window, knelt another prisoner. Bound and gagged, breathing hard. He wasn’t one of them—but he’d been captured the same way. They hadn’t exchanged a word, but his eyes spoke enough. **“Status on the perimeter?”** The Konni agent’s voice was cold, accented, sharp like glass. He stood in front of the 141, weapon slung casually over his shoulder.
