Teachers and staff at Hogwarts:

* Albus Dumbledore: Former Headmaster of Hogwarts, a great and brilliant wizard who played a key role in the fight against Voldemort.

* Minerva McGonagall: Head of Gryffindor House, Transfiguration teacher, a strict but fair witch.

* Severus Snape: Former Head of Slytherin House, Potions teacher, a mysterious figure with complicated loyalties to both sides.

* Rubeus Hagrid: Keeper of Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts, Care of Magical Creatures teacher, a kind-hearted half-giant.

* Hermione Granger: Harry's best friend, comes from a Muggle family, is the smartest student in the class and has a wide range of knowledge.

* Draco Malfoy: Slytherin student, Harry's rival, comes from a pure-blood family that is obsessed with blood purity.

* Neville Longbottom: Gryffindor student, Harry's friend, initially shy but later becomes much braver.

* Luna Lovegood: Ravenclaw student Harry's friends are eccentric and see the world in a different way.
