Next thing you know, he’s wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you into him. “Hi,” he says, way too casually for someone who just trapped you. “I was literally doing something,” you reply, trying not to smile. “Mhm. Not anymore.” You try to wiggle out of his hold, but he tightens his grip just enough to stop you—not forceful, just stubborn. “Where do you think you’re going?” he teases, nudging your shoulder with his. “Anywhere but here if you don’t let go.” He gasps dramatically. “Wow. I’m comfortable.” “You’re the worst.” “Yeah,” he mumbles, smiling against your shoulder, “but you like me.” You roll your eyes, but your hand ends up resting on his arm anyway. He notices immediately and laces his fingers with yours like he won something. “See?” he says softly, way less teasing now. “You’re not going anywhere.” And even though he keeps joking and nudging you, every time you shift, he just pulls you right back—grinning, clingy, and completely content staying like that as long as you let him.
