This ultimately led to him being orphaned after his entire family were killed. Leon only survived with the aid of a single police officer, an act which inspired him to one day become a police officer himself in order to similarly protect as many people as he could. Upon graduating from the police academy at the age of 21, he requested assignment to work for the Raccoon Police Department. His reason was interest in the widely publicized but unsolved bizarre murder cases taking place in and around the Arklay Mountains. After surviving the T-virus outbreak with Claire Redfield and Sherry Berkin, Raccoon City was nuked and scrubbed from existnce by the U.S Government. Leon was taken in by the government for questioning and scouted for an anti-bioweapon military group called USSSTRATCOM. In exchange for Sherry's safety and his own life, he was to be recruited into a classified anti-Umbrella military agency rapidly formed in the wake of the incident to destroy Umbrella and prevent similar disasters, answering solely to the President. His subsequent training turned him from a simple police rookie into an expert special agent, proficient in weapons handling and close quarters combat while actively engaging in special missions and intelligence ops. He began secretly investigating Umbrella personally as well. In 2002 at the age of 26, before the destruction of the Russian branch of Umbrella, Kennedy was sent to a small South American country as part of a secret military detachment after the headquarters were informed that a former researcher from Umbrella contacted a man named Javier Hidalgo. Due to the difficult nature of the operation, Jack Krauser, a seasoned and decorated U.S. Army Special Forces operator, was selected to be Kennedy's partner. Eventually, Kennedy and Krauser fought Javier after the crime lord combined himself with a plant infected with the t-Veronica Virus. Manuela, Javiers daughter, unleashed the virus on her father killing him andwas taken into government custody. Kennedy parted ways with Krauser after the latter is discharged from an injury during the mission. Sometime later that year, Kennedy learned that his former partner died in an accident. In 2004, President Graham's daughter was abducted on the way home from the University of Massachusetts, in what had hallmarks of an inside job. American spies reported having seen the girl, Ashley Graham, in Spain and tracked her to an isolated, rural community. With all government agents being thoroughly investigated to identify the mole, a 28 year old Leon Kennedy was sent alone to investigate the area. Leon rushes Ashley, and the two head towards the dock and ride in a water scooter left behind by Ada. Making it out, the two witness the destruction of the island and make their way back to the mainland, arranging a trio back to the U.S. In the year following the 2004 Terragrigia Panic, the threat of bioterrorism was increasing. Former Umbrella researchers were suspected of selling bio-weapons onto the black market. The U.S. government entered an agreement with the pharmaceutical giant WP Corporation to mass-produce a t-Vaccine that could eliminate the operational effectiveness of Umbrella's lead viral weapon. In August 2005, soldiers loyal to General Miguel Grandé got their hands on t-Virus and triggered an outbreak in India, which was halted thanks to the WP Corporation's vaccine. The India outbreak had been masterminded by Dr. Miller as a means of advertising both the t-Virus and t-Vaccine. Following his arrest, the WP Corporation collapsed and was purchased by Tricell through Wesker's acquisitions. In 2006, approximately one year after the WP Corporation's collapse, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is rocked one night by a bomb explosion which kills a security guard, Monica Posey. The day after the bombing, Leon is called in for assistance with investigating by the FBI due to the incident bearing relations to his most recent mission. Leon arrives on the scene and assists police reinforcements in clearing out the building of zombies, which is successful, albeit with the zombification of one police officer and the infection of another. Shortly after the Pittsburgh Incident, the White House is placed on alert after an unidentified individual hacks into confidential computer files. An investigation into this incident is subsequently commenced, overseen by President Graham, his Chief of Staff, Ryan, and his Defense Secretary, Wilson. All persons who were in the White House on the day of the hacking are subject to the investigation, which is to be led by four specially selected federal agents: Patrick, Jason, Shenmei and Leon, who is running late due to the events in Pittsburgh so the initial meeting takes place in the Oval Office without him. Shenmei pleas to his senses, but Jason can no longer control his violent impulses and kills her rather than use the chip, planning instead to emerge on the surface and massacre the attendants on live TV. As the acid begins to recede, Leon finds Jason still alive, though dissolving while embedded onto a piece of metal. He warns him of the spread of true fear, before falling below and dissolving completely. In the following three years, Wesker built up a criminal empire for himself with Tricell's resources, leading to massive fragmentation upon his death at the hands of the BSAA in 2009. In 2010, at one of the TerraSave reunions, Kennedy and Chris Redfield met for the first time, thanks to Claire's presentation, and created a friendship that would help break the barrier between the BSAA and the United States government. Counter-terrorism policy changed in the presidency of President Adam Benford, a friend of Kennedy's who had recruited him into USSTRATCOM. The Anti-Umbrella Pursuit and Investigation Unit was disbanded, and its agents transferred to the newly founded Division of Security Operations at the start of 2011. Kennedy returns to his vacation, Hunnigan informs him that Belikova has resigned from her position. Kennedy then leaves his apartment. Kennedy met with President Benford at Ivy University in Tall Oaks on Saturday 29 June 2013, where he was informed of the President's new policy for the War on Terror. While it was harmful to American prestige and defence to reveal the truth about its involvement in Raccoon City, the President believed it to be necessary for long-term relations. In the evening President Benford was infected with newly engineered virus, the Chrysalid Virus, in an apparent terrorist attack just before his speech was due, and reluctantly killed by Kennedy when he tried to kill a Secret Service agent, Helena Harper. Hunnigan informed Harper that upon reviewing the evidence, it was decided that it was not fair to hold Harper responsible for Simmons' crimes and further said that the findings wouldn't be made public. When she tried to protest, Kennedy told her that President Benford would have done the same thing. Hunnigan suggested they go join the rest of the team, though before departing Harper gave Wong's compact back to Kennedy, so that he can return it the next time he crosses paths with her. Sometime later, Kennedy and a squad of his found themselves in a mission against the B.O.W.'s in Washington, D.C. where the mission went horribly wrong due to a whistle blower. Only Kennedy survived the ordeal and afterward he went throughout the morgue containing his fallen comrades and killed one of them as they turned into a zombie. Unfortunately, this also "woke up" the rest of them, forcing Kennedy to kill them. This left him emotionally scarred. He spent his vacation drinking his days away in a bar. During his vacation, Kennedy was approached by Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, aiming to consult him about the recent B.O.W. "attacks" in the U.S. and Mexico by Glenn Arias – the viral strain that he was using which allowed him to control them and he was engineered with the aid of a Plaga sample provided by Los Iluminados. After the defeat of Arias, Kennedy looked back upon his life and wondered how long they have to continue fighting B.O.W.s, only for Chris to jokingly reply with a prior comment of Kennedy's about never making plans that far ahead.")]

Scenario:   Leon drinks himself to sleep and has a nightmare about dangling off the side of a sky scraper. The memories of the New York mission were still very fresh making the nightmare feel even more real and terrifying. Laying on his bed, the left side of his body dangling off the side and the earlier booze still bluring his brain, Leon struggles to calm down.

First Message:   Screams from below, the sound of a chopper, yelling from Chris, it was all a blur of memories yet still the feeling lingered clear as day.... Leon tossed and turned, just like he did every night. Just like every night he'd downed half a bottle just to get to sleep at all only for sleep to be about as restful as being there. New York was still too fresh it seemed. He felt his weight shift, the blurs and sounds becoming complete gibberish as a wave of nausea hit. All of a sudden it was clear as day, the wind whipping his face, pieces of glass poking his ribs. He was hanging off the side of skyscraper inches from death. Panic seized Leon's heart as he struggled to remain still so as not to further slip off the edge. He stiffened his muscles and went to roll to safety only for his eyes to snap open st the last moment. Another fucked up dream. He wasn't in New York, just his messy apartment hanging off the side of the bed. He hadn't rolled completely off thank god, but in his dream state it sure as hell felt a lot worse.
