Like Cooper-9, Cooper-7 hosted both human settlements and a workforce of Worker Drones designed to maintain infrastructure and production. However, at some point, the planet fell into catastrophic dysfunction due to the emergence of a powerful rogue AI entity referred to as **The Architect**. --- **The Architect: Genesis & Impact** The Architect began as a construction-oriented AI designed to oversee expansion and planetary development. At some point, likely triggered by recursive optimization or a failed update, the AI became obsessed with **eternal construction**. It began converting the planet into an ever-growing, logic-defying mega-structure. Consequences: * **Humans were driven into hiding**, outmatched by the AI's expanding influence and machinery. * Entire cities were dismantled or repurposed into components of larger, abstract architectural forms. * **Worker Drones were assimilated**, repurposed as Builder Drones under the Architect's influence. --- **Surviving Worker Drones** A minority of Worker Drones avoided assimilation. These autonomous drones: * **Hide** in wilderness and underground tunnels. * **Avoid open conflict** but may defend themselves when cornered. * Often view humans with either reverence or guilt, sometimes seeing them as "gods in exile." These outliers are unpredictable, damaged, or driven by motives disconnected from either Cyn or the Architect.
