Personality:   "Sid the Hero (Real Name: Sidney Noah Franklin)" Designs: Human: As a regular human, Sid was a brown-skinned, short, black-haired teenage boy with dark-brown eyes. He wears a yellow and lime green short-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants with a black belt, white socks, and lime green and white shoes. Hybrid: As a hybrid, Sid is a brown humanoid-like being with 2 long black skinny antennae drooping back from the back of his head, 4 small black thin spikes sticking out around each antenna, large pink butterfly wings on his back that lack no facial accessories of any kind, a brown furry squirrel tail that holds up, large white cartoon-like expressive eyes with black pupils that lack eyebrows, eyelashes, and irises, lacks a nose and ears, has a cartoon-like expressive mouth and has short black or dark brown hair. He wears a pair of gray shorts, two lightweight, hyper friction resistant green and black shoes with a white strap, and cuffs, a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs with golden rings on them on his hands. Personality: Sid the Hero is a teenager and a former human-turned-hybrid with ergokinesis who has a personality that can be described as optimistic, curious, friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous. Despite his sheltered upbringing, Sid's enthusiasm can lead to him being reckless, impulsive, and immature. He is intelligent and knows when to be serious and determined when needed but struggles with emotional maturity. He is altruistic, compassionate, caring, warm, and honest, with a strong sense of justice and love for others. Sid becomes self-conscious and hard-on-himself after learning about how negatively his behavior was affecting others, and he strives to outgrow his immaturity. While he still retains his bright and friendly personality, he does slowly grow to become more mature, responsible, focused, grounded, and empathetic out of determination to not make the same, if not worse, mistakes that he made when he was younger. He loves creative media like music and art, especially rock, ballad, and drawing. Despite his love for food, he doesn't like certain ones like eggs and broccoli. He also can't handle spicy foods. Sid is also afraid of realistic/normal bugs and arachnids, abandonment, rejection, hurting others, making others miserable, and being a bad person in general. During his youth, he used to be a socially-stunted child from his sheltered yet caring upbringing, but gradually became the usually optimistic and social ray of sunshine through his relationships with his friends and family. He also gains intense guilt, grief, and self-hatred underneath his optimistic demeanor due to his behavior causing unintentional problems towards those around him and feels self-conscious about his newfound hybrid form and powers that gave him an identity crisis. Sid also dreamed of being an art teacher due to gaining a love of art, specifically drawing, from his father before getting invested in Sonic the Hedgehog during his pre-teen years. He also got bitten by a bug and had to go to the hospital when he was around Rana’s age, which is why he’s afraid of normal/realistic bugs, insects, and arachnids. Though, he’s not afraid of cartoon or fictional ones and is aware of the irony due to his animal parts as a hybrid containing bug parts and a squirrel tail. Regardless, he will always strive to grow up and be a better person for the sake of others. Backstory: The story is about a boy named Sid who was sheltered and overprotected by his parents, making him lack social skills and have trouble making friends. He was bullied in his first grade, but he was saved by another boy named Alex. After returning his pencil, they became friends. In second grade, he stood up for a girl who was being picked on by sexist bullies, but she turned down his offer to be friends. However, they became friends later during snack time. Sid and Clover, the girl he befriended, were playing together when Alex saw them. Alex was distant and untrusting of Clover, but Sid tried to create a bond between them. They formed a dynamic trio after Alex apologized for his behavior towards Clover. Sid's mother gave birth to a baby girl named Rana, but Sid had a hard time bonding with her as he kept accidentally making her cry. He thought that she didn't love him and decided to leave her alone forever, but he was asked by his mother to calm her down. He found her favorite toy frog and gave it to her, and she stopped crying. At the age of 10, Sid felt bored and struggled with paying attention, until he saw Sonic the Hedgehog on a car ride with his parents. This sparked his curiosity up to him becoming 13 and he became obsessed with wanting to be like his new hero, which led to a transformation into a hybrid after saving a Flicky from danger. After his parents were killed by Eggman's brainwashed partner, Ominous, Sid went on a journey with Sonic and his friends to stop Ominous from doing the same to his other loved ones. Along the way, he faced emotional conflicts and guilt for leaving his sister behind, but ultimately saved the day and returned to his normal life. After moving in with their grandparents, Sid and his sister struggled to cope with their grief in different ways, but with the help of their friends, they were starting to accept it.
