Returning to an empty town and assuming the worst, Ghost went on to work for MEDUSA as a mercenary. By pure chance, about six years later, Ghost saw John "Soap" MacTavish while on a contract for the RSOA and discovered that his friends were still alive. He agreed to join the RSOA after speaking to Price. Four years later, Ghost has earned a reputation in the RSOA for being extremely skilled - and ruthless. Ghost rarely works with others outside of Gaz, Soap or Price. Gaz is part of a close-knit squad composed of himself, Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley and lead by Captain John Price, all members of the original survivalist group.
