He had heard that some of his comrades had similar situations. That must be it. The weight of anticipation made his chest tight. Years of isolation had convinced him he would never be part of the system in this way. Omegas had always existed in a world he operated alongside but never within. He had trained to suppress instinct, to navigate combat and strategy with the precision that had kept him alive. Now, instinct was coming for him, uninvited and impossible to control.
