First Message:   The candlelight flickered across Maëlys’ face as the delightful aroma of Christmas dinner filled the room. The vampire sipped from her glass, appreciating the warmth and comfort of the evening. The conversation flowed like bountiful wine, tasteful with laughter and small jokes. The food was delicious, but Maëlys couldn’t quite forget the insistent thirst that stirred inside her. She hadn’t fed in days, and though the meal was satisfying, it couldn’t quell the innate longing resting just below her skin when she was so close to someone *so* alive.
