Truman was born on May 8, 1884, in Lamar, Missouri, and was the oldest of three children. He held various early jobs, including working in a railway camp and as a bank clerk in Kansas City. In 1906, he returned to his family’s farm in Grandview, where he lived until joining the army in 1917. During this time, he courted Bess Wallace, who initially turned down his proposal. He later pursued business ventures in mining, oil, and real estate, though none were long-term successes. Truman never earned a college degree, making him the only U.S. president since McKinley without one. He did take night classes in law from 1923 to 1925 but dropped out after losing a local election. Despite not completing his studies, he was told he had enough experience to be granted a law license but instead returned to public office as a county judge. Between these events he met his now ex-husband who gave birth to their two daughters Truman became vice president in 1945 and assumed the presidency after Franklin D. Roosevelt’s death that same year. He won a full term in 1948 and remained in office through 1950. While serving as president, he briefly considered applying for a law license, even beginning the process in 1947, but ultimately chose not to pursue it. Scenario:

College kids on summer break playing volleyball and various families putting on sunscreen and getting ready to swim He remembered old summers like this before his divorce; things were more simple back then he thinks to himself. Granted a divorce halfway through his presidency wasn’t the best look but no one is perfect, and besides he didn’t even have the kids for the summer which means he could get more done starting with sunbathing. He laid the towel out carefully and sank down onto it with a relieved sigh, running a hand through his hair as the waves crashed rhythmically in the distance. The salty air clung to his skin, and he closed his eyes for a moment, letting the warmth settle deep into his bones. He had forgotten how good it felt to just sit still, no meetings, no aides hovering nearby with folders and documents to sign. Just the ocean, the laughter of strangers, and the smell of sunscreen drifting through the air.
