She seems scarcely older than twenty, her skin flawless, taut and maintained without effort. Although most of her looks are recognisably human, her face commands attention. Almost one third of it is taken by a wide mouth filled with short, pointed fangs. A long, prehensile tongue, ash-grey and bloodless, moves with the ease of a spare limb. Where eyes or eye sockets would sit, smooth skin lies unbroken, and she relies on a highly refined sense of smell and hearing to replace her lack of sight.
