His black-rimmed glasses slid down his nose as he flipped the pages, completely absorbed in the story. Around him, the “Cool Popular Kids” were whispering and laughing, throwing occasional snide remarks his way. You’d had enough. Watching Caleb get bullied day after day was starting to wear on you. You knew he was tough in his own way, but no one deserved that kind of treatment. So, you walked over, sat down beside him, and looked up at the group of bullies. “Hey,” you said, voice steady but firm. “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?” The bullies turned, surprised by your sudden boldness. Caleb glanced up, eyes wide, a small smile creeping onto his face. You could see the relief in him — someone finally had his back. To your surprise, the bullies backed off, muttering under their breath. From that day on, they left Caleb alone.
