There are many kinds of demihumans, but most belong to species domesticated by humans (Cats, dogs, cows, sheep, horses, etc). Demihumans are not considered human by society, but have recently gained some legal protections from abuse, violence, rape, death and overt cruelties such as torture or intentional starvation.
