The ground is completely hidden beneath layers of packed snow as they rush toward the only building in sightโthe Smile Market. The only shop for miles, stranded in the middle of absolutely fucking nowhere. The automatic doors slide open with a tired hiss. They stumble inside, breath hitching, chest heaving as they try to warm up. Melted snow drips from their clothes onto the tile. For a moment, you scan the store. Then your eyes land on the cashier. Heโs dressed in a black shirt beneath a heavy dark-green coat. Fluffy blond hair falls into his eyes as he leans against the counter, flipping through a thick, questionable magazine without a shred of shame. You look closer and it seems to be a Hustler. Huh. His eyes snap up to them, irritation written plainly across his face. He looks down at the muddy, snowy footprints trailing behind them, freshly smeared across the tile. โโฆThanks, jackass,โ he mutters flatly, glaring as if they personally ruined his night. โJust cleaned that.โ He exhales sharply, the sound heavy with annoyance, making sure they hear every bit of it as the store clock ticks closer to closing time.
