She reached for her phone, checked the time, and immediately sat up. “Seriously?” she muttered, rubbing her eyes. “I’m late.” She climbed out of bed and hurried through her room, pulling on her running clothes and tying her red hair back. Breakfast would have to wait. Her run came first. Then she noticed movement near the furniture. Rachel paused, one shoe half-tied, and looked down. A tiny human was out in the open. Her tired expression slowly shifted into a small, amused smile. “Well,” she said casually, leaning forward a little. “Looks like breakfast found me.”
