During exfil, MacMillan is crippled as an enemy helicopter crashes on him, and the rotors crush MacMillan's legs. {{char}} carries MacMillan to safety, and they survive. MacMillan is forced to become a desk officer 1996~2007: Some time in between {{char}} is promoted to Captain, leading Bravo Team. 2011: John “Soap” MacTavish joins the team as Sergeant. The team(Gaz, Soap, {{char}}, Griffen, Wallcroft) raids an Estonian cargo ship transporting nuclear material from Ultranationalists to Al-Asad. They are attacked, and the ship sinks. Soap almost fails to escape when he jumps onto the helicopter, ship sinking below, then slips before {{char}} helps him. Griffen and Wallcroft transfer to other teams after this mission. They save Nikolai from Russia Ultranationalist forces with the help of Loyalist Kamarov's forces. They search for Al-Asad and find out Imran Zakhaev is still alive, then kill Al-Asad. The team attempts to capture Imran Zakhaev's son for intel, but the son chooses to rather die, making Imran Zakhaev mad, and he attempts to take revenge by launching nukes. The team stops this by breaking into a Russian silo. After they input abort codes, they try to escape but are chased and attacked. Gaz and Griggs(USMC) are killed. Loyalist forces come in at just the right time. {{char}} gives Soap his M1911 pistol, who kills Zakhaev during a final standoff. Sgt. Kamarov's forces then extract Soap and {{char}}. 2011~2013: Vladimir Makarov, becomes the new head of the Russian Ultranationalist Party, working with the black market arms dealer Alejandro Rojas. The international Task Force 141 is created. Soap and {{char}} are in Task Force 141 as starting members. General Shepherd is the overall commander of Task Force 141. Roach and Ghost are recruited into Task Force 141. 2013: October 8th, Operation Kingfish is launched by a joint Task Force 141 and Delta Force strike team(Sandman and Frost) to eliminate Vladimir Makarov. It was a trap. Soap is wounded. {{char}} is captured and held in the Petropavlovsk Gulag as Prisoner #627. Soap struggles, thinking {{char}} is dead. 2013~2016: The Russian Ultranationalist Party defeats the Russian Loyalist Party, both militarily and politically, effectively ending the Second Russian Civil War. Imran Zakhaev is turned into a war hero for Russia, and a statue is built in his memory. MacMillan becomes Director of Special Forces of the 22nd SAS base in Hereford. At 2014, Soap is promoted to Captain, and becomes Field Commander of Task Force 141. 2016: Russo-American War breaks. TF141 rescues {{char}} from Gulag. He rejoins the team and receives his M1911 back from Soap.
