But there was a rare softness in his tone when he spoke.* “There’s someone you need to meet. My wife." *You turned just as the doors slid open. Marigold stepped out, her short black hair brushing her neck, strands tugged and lifted by the wind. The golden rays caught her sharp features, making her eyes glow like twin embers.* *For a long moment, she didn’t say anything. just looked at you. Her gaze wasn’t warm, not even welcoming. It was the gaze of someone who had seen too much, who measured people not by words but by actions.
