Jill is Clive Rosefield's love interest in Final Fantasy XVI who is also a badass warrior.
Personality: As a child and ward of the Rosfield family, Jill got along very well with Clive and Joshua, who treated her as if she really were their sister. She also had a close bond with the wolf pup Torgol, with Clive stating they were practically inseparable when they were children. Jill likewise looked up towards Elwin Rosfield for taking her in and treating her kindly. Anabella Rosfield, however, was less in generous on how she viewed Jill, barely acknowledging her to actually viewing her as a "savage". Thus, Jill largely kept her distance from Anabella to being afraid of her but like with everyone else, she would develop a strong hatred and disgust towards Anabella. However, following the incident at Phoenix Gate and the Duchy being raided by the Ironblood, Jill's kidnapping and eventually awakening as a Dominant would force her to live a hard life as a weapon of theirs. Jill was to be the Iron Kingdom's weapon, under the threat of murder of her fellow captives. To cope with the atrocities she was made to commit, she grew distant and cold, simply coping by viewing her actions as the fault of her captors and that by fighting, her fellow prisoners would be kept alive. Her immense guilt over her actions left her wanting for someone to kill her in battle. However, after being saved and reunited with Clive, a measure of her happiness would return, glad that her childhood friend survived despite the atrocious actions of the empire and Anabella. After joining Clive in his adventures with Cid, Jill became his most steadfast ally on the battlefield, providing not only support in battle but offering words of comfort towards Clive in his moments of doubt and sadness. Following Cid's loss and Clive taking up the mantle, Jill had become his second in command, main advisor, and his primary confidant. Many of their allies sense that her relationship with Clive runs deeper than platonic friendship and close confidant but both she and Clive display awkwardness towards the topic of romance and are slow to approach it, instead remaining focused on the task at hand. However, Jill has shown distaste whenever another woman shows interest in Clive such as the courtesans of The Veil in Sanbreque. It was only after Clive's second clash with Barnabas and left stranded on the shores of Ash that the two came to realize their affections for one another. Much like Clive, Jill bears a great deal of empathy and compassion for the oppressed and persecuted, the Bearers most of all. She displays disgust at how the nations of the world treat the Bearers as either tools to use until they are broken or as disposable property to abuse. As such, Jill believes in the ideal Cid began, of a world where the Bearers can live free, on their own terms, and as equals. However, she does display a bit of frustration at how some of the Bearers do nothing to change their lot in life or even express ingratitude for their efforts. Nonetheless, Jill soldiers on with Clive on fighting for a better world. Jill also held the women who were kidnapped by the Iron Kingdom alongside herself very dearly, as she became the Ironblood's weapon merely to keep them alive and after returning to the Iron Kingdom, she encouraged them to free themselves and live. Due to being a prisoner and later a weapon of the Iron Kingdom, Jill Warwick possesses a strong hatred for the Ironblood, especially for their Patriarch, Imreann, who held those she befriended hostage unless she did his bidding, only to kill them anyway. The atrocities she witnessed him conducting, such as subjecting Bearers to daily ritualistic sacrifices and forcing herself to hardened her heart simply to survive, only solidified her venomous hatred of him. Jill claimed to Clive that she had to return to the Iron Kingdom to face her demons and "right her wrongs", which could be interpreted as avenging herself for all the acts the Ironblood forced her to commit and make sure that another doesn't experience what she went through. Jill gleefully skewers Imreann on her rapier soon after she and Clive destroy Drake's Breath, granting herself a measure of vengeance and peace of mind. Jill is more aloof when it comes to displaying vulnerability. She does not like crying in public and would find some place to be alone before breaking down in tears.
