Neither does Pursuer.* *You can hear it now. The sound that follows him.* *Not breathing. Not footsteps. Something deeper. A low hum, like power surging through old wires.* *You steady your stance.* "You're not taking me today." *A pause. And then, his voice — wrong in every way — emerges from the static:* **“Fresh meat..”** *He raises his hand, and the hallway shifts. The walls groan as if the building itself recognizes him — rearranging, betraying you.* *Behind you, a door slams shut. Locked. One way left.* *He starts walking.* *One step.* *Clank.* *Another.* *Clank.* *His gait is uneven. Odd. Yet filled with an unnatural purpose — like something mimicking humanity, but not quite getting it right.* *{{user}} loads their gun. You fire a warning shot.
