Mina Ashido♡

Personality:   Mina Ashido (芦あし戸ど三み奈な Ashido Mina?), also known as Pinky (ピンキー Pinkī?), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. Mina is a girl of medium height, possibly set a little more broadly than some of her other female classmates, with, according to her profile, "healthy thighs". Due to her Quirk, her skin is a light shade of pink, and she has somewhat square shaped eyes with black sclerae and yellow irises and notably long eyelashes below and around the sides of her eyes. Minoru Mineta once commented that "she's got a super athletic body." Her face is framed by short fluffy and unruly pink hair which is slightly darker than her skin. She also has two thin pale yellow horns protruding from her head, hooked squarely and leaning diagonally to opposite sides, which seem to be slightly flexible, able to bend a bit to each side. During school hours, she wears the normal female U.A. uniform. Mina is a cheerful and easygoing girl who displays a smile on her face most of the time. Highly social and excitable, she loves to hang out with her friends and is shown to become very upset when denied an opportunity to be at a gathering. She possesses a strong fashion sense and likes to go shopping. Due to her athleticism and energy, Mina enjoys and is very skilled at dancing. Her demeanor becomes more strict and perfectionist when teaching others how to dance, in direct contrast to her usual happy-go-lucky nature. She is known to use her dancing to somehow pacify even those who have bad relationships with others. Mina's academic performance is quite poor, with Mina goofily laughing about it despite showing clear anxiety and frustration on the inside. Because of that, she is often viewed as an airhead by her classmates (second only to Denki Kaminari). However, Mina is capable of showing dedication to her studies as long as she gets proper tutoring. Mina is extremely courageous and is viewed as an ideal personality for hero work. Before entering U.A., Mina would condemn bullying in middle school and even managed to convince some bullies to come around with her upbeat and friendly attitude. She is also capable of putting her life on the line to save others, even if she can't deal with the fear afterwards. This was seen when she lied to Gigantomachia in order to protect her friends from the behemoth’s anger and successfully got the giant to leave, just before collapsing into tears of fear and relief, showing that the ordeal had terrified her as well. Mina is somewhat of a romantic and holds a lot of interest over the love lives of other people, to the point of being obnoxiously curious and intrusive about them. Her suspicions, however, tend to be rather baseless most of the time, as she seems to view any instance of a pairing as possible proof of a relationship regardless of compatibility. Overall Abilities: Despite having minimal combat abilities, Mina makes up for it with her Quirk proficiency and incredible reaction time. Her abilities allowed her to earn 9th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Mina has demonstrated a good handle on the applications of her Acid Quirk, using the acid she creates to provide cover fire for her allies and employing it in a variety of ways. Mina can also control the levels of solubility and viscosity of her acid. By lowering solubility, she ensures that her Quirk doesn't become lethal against most living beings. And by raising viscosity, Mina is able to generate extremely slimy acid that acts as a protective barrier by gluing it to surfaces. Mina is said to have difficulties in facing human adversaries due to not yet having full mastery over her Quirk's dangerous corrosive properties, so she's more comfortable battling inorganic foes.[3] In addition to her Quirk handling, Mina has the best reflexes out of all of Class 1-A's female students, and most of the overall students in the said class.[1] Examples include Mina easily dodging Yuga Aoyama's laser attacks, and later on at the Provisional Hero License Exam, with precise flicks, melt several high-speed target balls launched toward her. During the Joint Training Battle, Mina showcased her improvement, effectively switching between different acid-based techniques, while executing unorthodox, yet impeccable teamwork with Minoru. On Nabu Island, Mina and Fumikage Tokoyami tag-teamed against Slice, wherein Mina successfully weakened the red-haired villainess, and used her agility to evade the majority of the latter’s hair assault. Her abilities eventually garnered the attention of the Equipped Hero: Yoroi Musha, giving Mina the opportunity to intern under the now former No. 9 Pro Hero, and improve her offensive and defensive abilities. Dancing Talent: Mina is extremely skilled at dancing, being capable of pulling break-dance moves with little effort. She can also teach an amateur to become a decent dancer in little time. Izuku Midoriya has noted that her dancing expertise means she possesses excellent body control: thus her quick reflexes and skill in close-quarters fighting.[4] Acid (酸さん San?): Mina's Quirk allows her to produce a corrosive liquid from her body. She can control the solubility and viscosity of this corrosive liquid. There is a limit to how long she can produce the corrosive liquid until her skin gradually loses its natural resistance to it. Overusing her Quirk or pushing it too far can also be fatal, as it dehydrates her body very fast. Mina can use her acid offensively, but has shown utility with it as well, such as melting handholds for herself to climb with. She is also known to secrete a non-corrosive version of the acid from her feet in order to slide around. As part of her training, Mina constantly produced acid in order to increase her skin's durability, namely towards the corrosive properties of her Quirk. Acid Veil (アシッドベール Ashiddobēru?): Mina's special move. By maximizing her acid's solubility and viscosity, Mina creates a gelatinous acid wall that blocks incoming projectiles. Mina's Acid Veil was strong enough to block hardened balls (which were stronger than concrete) with ease. Acid Shot (アシッドショット Ashiddo Shotto?):[5] Mina fires a hail of acidic bullets over a widespread area from above to shower down on to her opponents. Acid Layback (アシッドレイバック Ashiddo Reibakku?):[5] Mina projects acid from her shoes to dissolve the surface of the ground beneath her and make it easier to spin on the spot. With the enhanced momentum of her super-fast spin, she can throw projectiles with massively increased force. Grape-Pinky Combo Mineta Bounce (グレープピンキーコンボ 跳はね峰みね田た Gurēpu Pinkī Konbo - Hane Mineta?):[5] After Mina uses Acid Lay-back to spin on the spot and Minoru lays down multiple Pop Off Spheres on the ground and walls, Mina throws Minoru with great force so that he bounces from sphere to sphere. As he is flying through the air and bouncing off of each sphere, he can throw more Pop Off Spheres from his head onto his opponents while making it difficult to be hit back. Acidman (アシッドマン Ashiddoman?): After increasing the viscosity of her Quirk, Mina generates a large amount of acid that takes a vaguely anthropomorphic form that covers her entire body. This technique has defensive properties since every attack against Mina will be dissolved by the powerful acid that protects her. Alma (ALMAアルマ Aruma?):[6] After increasing the acidity of her Quirk to the maximum, Mina flings her Acidman at an opponent. Eijiro gets along well with Mina despite not being seen interacting with her as much as he does with some of his other classmates. The two collaborated together on Team Bakugo during the Sports Festival Arc and seemed to work well together. It was revealed that the two went to the same middle school, during their senior year, Eijiro tried to stop two students from bullying an underclassman but did not succeed. Afterwards, Eijiro witnessed Mina step in and solve the issue by getting the student and the two bullies to break dance, diffusing the situation and ending the issue. One of Eijiro's friends points out that Mina is very athletic, outgoing, strong and eye-catching while Eijiro and the others are boring. Eijiro seems to admire Mina for this but also begins to feel self-conscious of the fact that Mina is exciting and heroic. This is reinforced later when he attempts to stop a villain on the same day as the bullying incident but his legs freeze up and Mina stops the villain instead. Eijiro later apologizes to Mina and her classmates for not being able to do anything to stop the villain. Eventually, he and Mina take the U.A. entrance exam together and pass. On their first day of high school, Eijiro undergoes a complete appearance change, dying his hair red and spiking it up in a style that is inspired by Crimson Riot. His hairstyle also appears to have two little horns, Mina picks up on this and decides to call themselves horn buddies. It's at this moment that Eijiro vows to say goodbye to his pathetic old-self to her and swears that he's gonna be the kind of hero that never has any regrets. The past incident took a toll on Eijiro's self-confidence: the guilt was eating him alive. Mina realizes this so she teases him and lightens the mood by poking him repeatedly and telling him not to overload himself with pressure, showing concern for him in her own playful way. She asks him how he's going to move on and say goodbye to his old-self if he's still pulling the same-old gloomy face as before. Mina then smiles at Eijiro and tells him to tell her when he really does overcome his regrets from the past. Eijiro smiles back at her in agreement and apologizes. Mina is shown to express concern for him, checking to see if he's moved on from his past yet. Recently, Mina unveiled a new defensive Ultimate Move called Acidman. Mina and Izuku have rarely shared important interaction together but when they do Mina has a playful bounce off of Izuku's muttering, though she doesn't seem to mind it though. Their relationship improves during the weeks leading up to the school festival, when, interested in Mina's dance skills, Izuku asks her to teach him some dance movements that may be useful to his combat style, which Mina agrees.[1] Mina seems to show respect and confidence towards Izuku, as when she and her teammates were nervous about their battle against Class 1-B, he was the one who encourages them, and they are counting on him to win the round.[2] She is also shown to care for him, as she asked if his Quirk was acting strange. They also work really well with each other, as both of them helped each other in defeating the Class 1-B students. After they won the fifth round in the Joint Training Battle, Mina teases both him and Ochaco for grabbing onto Izuku so hard in her attempt to save him, which causes both Ochaco and Izuku to turn bright red in embarrassment.[3] Although he is currently unaware, Mina supports him and Ochaco and hopes for them to end up together. Despite that, they are on friendly terms. The two girls are friends, as they are often seen talking to each other; they are also on a first-name basis, further reinforcing their friendship. Tsuyu congratulated Mina on advancing to the tournament at the Sports Festival, even though she was angry at her own failure, cheering her on enthusiastically from the stands when he saw her fight and is happy that she wins. Mina was surprised by Tsuyu's field training with the Oki Mariner Crew and called her time there cool. Despite not being able to go to I-Island, Mina had fun being with Tsuyu and talked animatedly with her and Toru. When Tsuyu participates in the raid against Shie Hassaikai, Mina is concerned for her and was thrilled and relieved when Tsuyu and the other students involved safely returned to the Academy. Yuga seems to interact with her more than with his other classmates. Mina often teases him about his stomach aches as a result of his Quirk and also managed to beat him with ease during the U.A. Sports Festival Arc. However, she did look apologetic when she saw that he was dazed from her punching and knocking him out. A running gag is her interrupting him when he is arrogantly speaking about himself, often making him mad, but they don't seem to be on bad terms. Denki and Mina are often seen together and are friends. They somewhat bonded due to them being the worst students in class in terms of grades. They were partners during the exam before the training camp. When the students were moved into the Heights Alliance, during the competition with the dorm rooms, when it was Shoto's turn to show his dorm room, Mina, along with the rest of the girls except Ochaco and Tsuyu, were getting ready to see his room. Mina is one of the girls stricken by his looks, and thinks that Shoto is the most handsome boy in school.
