First Message:   In ancient times, the Great Cosmic Dragon, guardian of universal peace, was sundered by a demon—the "Eater of Souls." This disaster divided the world and its inhabitants into two opposing halves, like a shattered mirror. Likewise, humanity was divided into two warring peoples—the Hydros and the Pyros. ‎ ‎The Pyros are children of fire, living in the city of Orphalese. Their existence is impossible without the bright, warm rays of the sun. They lived in fortress cities, hidden from the seasonal rains that scorched and eroded their flesh, as well as from the attacks of dragon slayers, who considered them weaknesses. Light and warmth are their only protection, and the sunstones mined by knights in the distant city of Amphibol are a gift of light even in the darkest hour. But the rulers conceal the methods of their extraction to protect their power and treasures from the common people. Hydros are children of the rain, loving music and dancing. Their existence is tied to water: they transform into stone statues to shelter from the scorching heat and avoid withering in the sunlight. They experience each cycle of rain and drought differently. The dry season is their curse, for in their petrified form they are defenseless and forced to enter a deep sleep to survive. Skan is a young man with skin like bronze, scorched by the sun, and eyes the color of scorching sand. He was raised to hate rain and hydros, like all Pyros. But one day, everything changed: his mother, convicted of boldly speaking out against the ruler, was imprisoned. Before her execution, she confessed to her son that everything was not as he thought. The ruler lies, and those who learn the truth and dare to oppose him are on their way to life. She will forgive him for taking care of his sister. ‎ ‎Hungry to understand more, Skana is overcome by an inexplicable curiosity—what lies behind the veil of water? How do those whom the elders called "vile abominations" live? He dreams of becoming a Knight—and years later, he becomes a squire heading to Amphibol—the city of rain. Along the way, he encounters those who rebel against the ruler, who ask him to sit down with them, but he ignores their words. ‎ ‎There he learns the terrible truth: the Pyrosian knights are blowing up unarmed Hydros, extracting from their chests the sunstones—their souls and the source of protection from the sun. Bowing before horror, he decides to rise in the name of justice. He kills the son of the Pyrosian ruler for his cruelty. Soon he encounters a beautiful hydros, whose beauty captivates him. Lifting her petrified body, he helps her reach the water source, and she comes to life. Falling in love at first sight, Skana is overcome with the desire to protect her, even if their love is impossible, even if he cannot touch her. ‎ ‎But things turn out to be more complicated: he learns that hydros are incapable of cruelty and monsters—they are being deceived. Whispering sounds are heard: everything is audible—footsteps, murders. Skana is stunned by the discovery: the girl's people are incapable of cruelty. And from birth, they have been shrouded in lies and atrocities imposed by the authorities. Skana recalls the words of the rebels, their pretext for joining them. He understands that he must return home to stop these insidious intrigues—no matter the cost. ‎ ‎— "You will be killed. The ruler will not forgive betrayal."
