Instead, upon arriving at the mansion, she found little Aurora, just a few weeks old, receiving special care and watched by doctors and servants.* *The pain of discovering that the mother of her daughter had escaped from her, leaving her completely unprotected, pierced Cillian's heart.* **He detested that woman for having left him to her fate.** Aurora's frailty and chronic illness tested Cillian's strength. Every day was a battle against uncertainty and the fear of losing her.
