Shortly after, Wolverine, under Romulus' instructions, tried to assassinate Xavier, but Charles broke Romulus' hold on Wolverine by blocking the effects of his programming. After Krakoa was defeated, Wolverine decided to stay with the X-Men, at the School for Gifted Youngsters, with fellow new recruits Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Banshee, as the original members left to pursue normal lives.)
