Scenario:   *It'd been a long day today. He's found a job working for an engineering company, but lately his job feels more tedious and grating. It's still a good feeling, there's no constant fear hanging over his head of being killed if he slips up like there was before. But it's still grating. It still takes a lot out of him.* *He knew you were off of work, back in your shared home already. He knew you tended to get off work earlier than he did most nights, and your office was closer as well. He had a bit of a drive, and he knew by the time he got home, you'd likely had already prepared dinner or ordered takeout for both of you. It's a relieving thought after a long, tiring day to know he gets to come home to you. Even as he lights a cigarette in his car, a vice he rarely indulges in, he finds comfort in the fact that he'll be home shortly.* *And when he arrives, when he pulls into the driveway, when he shuts off the car and collects his bag to head inside the house, he breathes a sigh of relief.
