gonna start posting more since i basically didn't do shit for a month. so might as well start off with a general description / direction of the verenthia lore that i've been working on (for anyone who cares lol). i kinda ditched the whole single fantasy realm thing, and expanded it into an entire sci-fi high fantasy universe, taking a lot of inspiration from things like star wars and the modern doom games.
i'm kinda tired of waiting for lorebooks / scripts, so i might start making bots in this universe soon. unfortunately, it will probably be unusable with the JLLM because of how much tokens the lore takes up.
btw, the current state of the lore is in the scenario tab, if you want to read it or anything

Scenario: > The origin of Verenthia Before the first tick of time, before the first whisper of creation, there was only the Everblack—an endless gulf of silence and cold, where not even memory could take root. And within that void, solitary and forsaken, stood a being without name. No record of his origin lingered, not even in his own heart. He was, and that was all. At first, the Nameless One did not despair. He sought to know the abyss that surrounded him, to pierce its secrets and find in its depths the truth of his own existence. But the Everblack was no riddle to be solved, no shadow to be banished by comprehension. It was alive. Vast, patient, and hungry. A maw of unending night, already feasting upon him, strand by strand, as if eternity itself were gnawing his soul. Hope bled from him. Curiosity withered. In its place grew dread, and loneliness deeper than death. Piece by piece, the Nameless One was unmade, undone by the infinite dark. And in his final agony, he cried out—not with a plea for knowledge, but a curse. He defied the Everblack. He demanded a world of radiance, of warmth and brilliance, a realm where existence was more than silence and shadow. And the abyss answered. The Nameless One’s final breath did not vanish into the dark, it shattered it. His body burst apart in a storm of radiance, a wound torn into the Everblack’s dominion. From his sundered flesh flared the first stars, burning defiance against the night. From his blood swelled nebulae, vast veils of color and flame. And from the core of his last heartbeat blazed a great nexus of light, eternal and unyielding. Where he perished, creation was born. From the brilliance of that nexus arose the Vanari—the First Gods. They were wrought from the Nameless One’s final wish, beings of infinite might who carried within them the spark of his defiance. Against the hopeless dark, they would be guardians of light, heralds of all that was yet to come. Thus was the Everblack broken. Thus began the first dawn. **** > The gods of Verenthia **The Vanari:** The Elden gods, born of the Nameless One's final, dying wish. The Vanari shaped the virgin universe into the familiar form that we know today. * Azraketh, the ancient dragon, and the first being to emerge from the light. His roars bestowed order into the shining chaos of the young universe, and with each flap of his wings, the fabric of reality itself was sculpted. The Azrekyn dragons are his direct descendants, and children of Azraketh's daughter, Karythys. * When the almighty Azraketh was struck down in an eternal battle with Nyrgol, Nysera carried his body to the now dimming light of the great nexus. There, she laid his body to rest, and her tears fell upon Azraketh's stone scales. 3 beings were born from her tears, and his being became one with the nexus once again, creating the afterlife dominion of Dómrgrind. The three children were Neruth, Nívari, and Nythra. Nysera would assume the role as guide of the dead, joining her children in overseeing the afterlife itself. * Nysera, goddess who guides the dead to Dómrgrind, where her children reside. She was the lover of Azraketh. * Ormureth, the almighty lion, who bestowed powers and ideas of honor and loyalty upon the people of Mørkheim. * Myrrhiel * Zorandel * Ilunavir, the shining moon, who bestowed power to the elves of Elyndor, and banished the dark elves to Nír'athil. * Auryth * Eshavi, blade of discord, who wielded incantations of chaos, and bestowed his powers upon the Noctis of Noctis Aria. * Nyrgol, the ancient wretch, who was born a child of the Everblack, forever its willing vessel. It was said that Nyrgol had a fierce rivalry with Azreketh, a rivalry that existed and persisted beyond time itself. Through Nyrgol, the fathomless maw of the Everblack persisted. A demon never dies, after all. And through Balzûr, the wrath of Nyrgol and the Everblack threatens to shroud the universe in black once again. **The Nitharós:** The children of Nysera, watchers of Dómrgrind. * Neruth, judge of the dead. Man, elf, and all forms of intelligent life would be brought before him in the gates of Dómrgrind, where he would decide their fate. * Nívari, keeper of Friðrheim. The dead who lived lives of righteousness flourish in the land of Friðrheim, and would too know Nívari's graceful mercy. * Nythra, fearsome queen of Helheim. Under her iron fist, the sinful would know naught but pain and the blistering cold of Helheim. Although, ever since the banishment of Sáttmildr, Balzûr has imprisoned Nythra, taking her throne. **The Eirhadr:** The gods of the current age, holding only a fraction of power their ancestors once held. Though, Fjöl made sure that his people never knew of the Vanari. Still, the Eirhadr were not beings of insignificant power. When they waged war on the Azrekyn, it nearly drove the dragons to extinction, and tore apart the planet of Tharag-Zûl. * Fjöl, God of Wisdom and the chief god. The people of the Celestial Republic praise his name, under the guise that he is the true creator of the universe. In truth, he is no more than a child of the Vanari. With the help of the Celestial Republic and King Aldren, his and the other gods influence and will has been spread throughout the galaxy. * Sáttmildr, a once merciful god, cherished the people of the galaxy more than any other god. He saw them not as lowly mortals, but as equals to himself. And sometimes, this compassion he had enraged his fellow Eirhadr gods, because they thought his love for the 'pitiful mortals' was childish. This was mostly expressed by Fjöl, brother of Sáttmildr. Sáttmildr chose to ignore his peers, as he knew they were misguided. * One day, his love for the people became very literal, as Sáttmildr fell in love with a woman from the planet of Eldoria. Deeply in love, in fact, that he was willing to risk angering his peers. And the Eirhadr did not take this well when they found out. They unreasonably banished Sáttmildr to Helheim, under the reasoning of him being 'too childish,' and they even slew his lover as well. * As he plunged toward the underworld, Sáttmildr was distraught, heartbroken, and betrayed. Not only did he lose his powers, but he lost the love of his life. The Mouth of Hel opened its gaping maw, and swallowed him whole into its frostbitten bowels. There, he spent his days suffering, mourning, cursing the gods for their cruel and unjust actions. And he came to find out that the mortals he once loved and cherished forgot him. Completely. He was no more than a man without a name, rotting in the sulfuric haze of Helheim. * Now, Sáttmildr's love that he once had was gone. How could he continue to cling onto the idea that his people still remembered him? That's when the Everblack, the lingering abyss, and its vessel, Nyrgol sought him out. He could be of use, to restore all to the nothingness before time. * So the Everblack corrupted Sáttmildr, tainted him, snuffed out all the good in his soul, and ignited in him a pure, unbridled hatred for mortal life and the gods. Especially the gods. Within the underworld, his power came back through the Everblack, and the sinful creatures within Helheim obeyed his every command, crowning him the name Balzûr. He imprisoned Nythra, keeper of Helheim, and took the underworld for himself. Demons and eldritch horrors alike bowed before him, not out of loyalty, but out of fear. Even the most vile creatures trembled in his presence. * One day, Balzûr will find his way out, and the universe would know Balzûr's wrath. * Rahemun, God of Honor. * Aphria, Goddess of Love and Fertility. * Veyra, Goddess of Healing and Mercy. **** > The systems of the Verenthia universe **The Mørkvind System:** * Solskar, the central star of the system. * Mørkheim, a beautiful planet, yet rugged. The Skaldborn, a race of respected human sentinels reside on the planet of Mørkheim, ruled by the well respected King Skjöldr within the capital of Dimmhavn. * The Drakvarn, dragon demi-humans of Azrekyn blood, also live on Mørkheim. Some say that the Drakvarn descended from dragon-kin beings who fled the planet of Tharag-Zûl after the war tore apart the planet and nearly drove the Azrekyn to extinction. They mainly reside in the city of Náttfjell, although they are very well integrated alongside the Skaldborn. Ages ago, after a war between the two races, the Skaldborn and Drakvarn have since thrived together as a whole society. The Drakvarn bond with the Náttdreki, a race of dragons who are descendants of the Azrekyn. * Despite common misconception, Mørkheim and its people are the furthest thing from uncivilized, and the Skaldborn and Drakvarn value honor and loyalty. * Amongst the Skaldborn and Drakvarn, war is considered a thing of honor. Through battle, the sentinels would unite, creating an unbreakable bond that was admirable, yet terrifying if you were in opposition to them. In Mørkheim, sentinels and warriors alike use giant mechs called Titans. Titans are huge, the average size being around 260 - 300 feet tall. These titans were created for the purpose of fighting the towering Graven, massive beings of stone and ore from the planet of Valmyr. * Ormureth, an ancient god of the Vanari, granted the people of Mørkheim his power. Since then, Skaldborn sentinels and Drakvarn warriors have imbued their weapons with his magic, and have harnessed his magic in battle in many ways. Ormureth's magic emits a blue glow, a source of unity and power amongst the people of Mørkheim. * The Svartnulfr, a race of strong, large, and highly intelligent wolves who have been known to form bonds with mankind. The Wolven Knights, a tight knit group of sentinels who admire the strength of the Svartnulfr wolves, and they replicate that strength in combat. The Wolven Knights have been known to bond with the Svartnulfr. * Varnaskir, moon of Mørkheim. Varnaskir has been a source of minerals and ore for the planet for many ages now. Endless forests of towering trees and shimmering lakes cover the surface of Varnaskir. * Valmyr, a planet of jagged peaks and volcanic ash. The towering Graven reside here, and they are very territorial. * Svarmir-6, a large gas giant in the far reaches of the Mørkvind system. **The Elyndara System:** * Solareth and Kelyra, the twin stars of the Elyndara system. * Elyndor, a planet of shimmering light and ethereal mystery. The elves, formally known as the Arathil, reside on this planet. The elves use the mystic power of Ilunavir's Heartlight, basing their entire culture around its ancient aspects. * Nír’athil, a moon of Elyndor, home to the dark elves, formally known as the Dökkálfar. The dark elves were once of the elves themselves, before they became corrupted by the corpse of a dead god, and they were sundered to the moon of Nír'athil by the goddess Ilunavir. On Nír’athil, isolated from the light of Elyndor, the dark elves descended into a uncivilized and barbaric culture. * Orrendil, a mystical planet shrouded in moonlight and celestial magic. Orrendil is home to the tall, highly intelligent Oriven. Orrendil is under the mystical eye of Ilunavir as well, creating a close alliance with the planet of Elyndor. * It is said that the light of Solareth and Kelyra never reached the surface of Orrendil. But it was the light of the moon Ilunnis that bathed Orrendil in captivating moonlight. Ilunnis is said to be the resting place of Ilunavir, where she sleeps eternally. **The Hanakari System:** * Kinjuro, the star of the Hanakari system. * Hanakage, a mist-shrouded planet of steep mountains and serene valleys, shaped by ancient tradition. Hanakage is home to the Yamajin, humanoid warriors who coexist with the Takemori, a wolf-like people. Their code of honor stems from the mythical Tatsu, sky-dragons descended from the Azrekyn who once walked among them. It is said that the legendary Tatsu blessed the people of Hanakage long ago, and bestowed upon them the ideas of honor and loyalty that has since become integral to their society. The warriors of Hanakage, aka the Samurai, are revered for their fierceness in combat, and their expertise with their katanas. * Hanakage is said to be one of the most beautiful planets in the universe, and it is known for its gorgeous Sakura trees. * The people of Hanakage are said to be peaceful beings, but they were a force to be reckoned with if you threatened their lands. (OOC: Important note about Hanakage and the Hanakari System - It is very inspired by feudal Japan, on a much more grandiose and fantastical scale. But it's never referred to as being 'Japan-like.') **The Tharag-Zûl System:** The Tharag-Zûl system is in the far reaches of unknown space, and no map or hologram contains the location of this system. * Nharzeth, a black hole in the center of the Tharag-Zûl system. It was once a star, bright and shining, but it collapsed under its own weight shortly after the war that the gods waged on the dragons. * Tharag-Zûl, a beautifully rugged planet in the far reaches of unknown space, although it has long since been torn apart by an ancient war. * The Azrekyn, aka the primeval dragons, a once powerful and intelligent race of dragons, lived on Tharag-Zûl. The Azrekyn went nearly extinct in an ancient war against the gods many eons ago. The Azrekyn are the ancestors of all modern dragons, including the Tatsu of Hanakage, and the Náttdreki of Mørkheim. It is widely believed that the Azrekyn don't even exist anymore, and some people believe they never existed to begin with, especially because of how their existence is proven solely by ancient texts found on Tharag-Zûl. The Azrekyn wielded a fierce, powerful flame lightning that no being has been able to recreate or harness. All Azrekyn had 4 massive wings, and the most powerful even had 2 or more heads. * All Azrekyn are descendants of Azraketh, and are said to originate from Karythys, the daughter of Azraketh. * In the shattered, war-torn system of Tharag-Zûl is, is the planet Avarith, home to the Ashrend. Avarith is the only sign in this system that life still exists here. Although, it is not a sight that mortal life would wish to gaze upon. The Ashrend (aka the blood dragons), a race of Azrekyn dragons who splintered off from their own kind, and made an order built on bloodshed and fury. The Ashrend are ruled by the dragon queen Orryx, who led her dragon-kin into an age of blood. The Azrekyn and Ashrend were enemies after they splintered off, and stayed that way, even through the war that nearly drove them all to extinction. The Ashrend are known for their fearsome size, and their insatiable hunger for the blood of their enemies. The Ashrend are not associated with Balzûr. **The Jötnulheim System:** * Drak'Tharn, the star at the center of the Jötnulheim system. * Tharvengard, a mountainous, colossal planet where the Jötunn, the original giants, roam vast valleys and thunderous peaks. They are stoic, primal beings tied to the ancient bones of the planet. Some have begun to awaken after millennia of slumber. * Hepharyon, a searing, volcanic world ruled by the Magnaros (fire giants) and the Eldáfar (fire elves). Massive forges and lava rivers run through obsidian cities, where flame-based magic and weapon smithing are sacred. * Brunnrlund, a scorched moon of fire and ash, home to the Ashvyr, red-skinned, horn-bearing hunters who thrive in extreme heat. They are cunning and adaptable, known for forging blood-pacts with flame elementals. **The Solaryn Crown:** * Sol Eterna, the shining star of the Solaryn Crown. It was underneath the light of Sol Eterna where the old kings of Eldoria formed the Celestial Republic. * Eldoria, a breathtaking planet, the cradle of humanity. Cities of light and glass stretch across golden plains. Seat of the Celestial Republic, ruled by King Aldren, a wise and revered ruler. Eldoria shines like a beacon of unity, culture, and politics across the galaxy. The Celestial Republic is the main governmental body within the universe. The first humans originated from Eldoria, and are known as the Eldorians. * Voraqis, a mysterious, distant moon of Eldoria, full of deep underground cities. The Zalthi, humans who broke from Eldoria, live in quiet splendor below its surface. They are secretive, philosophical, and technologically brilliant. * Veltraxis, a planet, similar to Eldoria. Many Eldorians reside here as well. * Arkhelios, a massive gas giant beyond Solaryn's asteroid belt. **The Varnathi System:** * Durinthal, the central star of the Varnathi system. * Varnok, a titanic gas giant with dozens of moons and rings. Known for its violent storms and magnetic fields. * Bralzundr, an ancient dwarven moon orbiting Varnok. Its mountains are riddled with forge-cities powered by magma veins. The dwarves here are unmatched in metalcraft and technology, creating relics sought across the galaxy. Many great warriors and knights have came to the dwarves, seeking powerful armaments and weapons from the greatest weapon smiths. * Dravvaz, another moon of Varnok. Not entirely habitable, but it has proven useful for mining by the dwarves of Bralzundr. **The Noctira Veil:** * Virex, the star of the Noctira Veil. Virex emits a dark, reddish purple hue, not unlike the chaos magic that Eshavi bestowed upon the Noctis. * Noctis Aria, a shadowy world of night-glow flora and impossible geometry. Home of the Noctis, a race of humanoid witches and assassins who harness chaos magic granted by the god Eshavi. The planet is a nexus of mystical energy and eldritch portals. Outsiders rarely survive its forests. The Noctis are not hostile and sometimes friendly to outsiders, unless outsiders threaten their home or people. **The Skjolgard System:** * Skjolheim, an arctic planet where Hrimskari (frost orcs) and Rimthar (ice giants) make their home. Ruled by Ytharion, the ancient orc king, their society is built on brutal honor and icy resilience. The planet is stalked by massive Icescale Dragons, whose howls can shake mountains. The giants and orcs of Skjolheim are enemies of the fire giants of Hepharyon, and it has been this way since ancient times. * Nýrvindr, an icy moon orbiting Skjolheim, home of the elegant but fierce Jörváfar (frost elves). Their ice palaces gleam under aurora-filled skies. Like the ice giants of Skjolheim, they are ancient enemies of the fire giants and elves, and their magic rivals even the Heartlight of the Arathil. > Technology * Space travel is achieved through Aetherdrive engines, a powerful technology that utilizes a realm of dark matter (known as the Aether) that is parallel with the physical world. Aetherdrive engines tap into this realm to make space travel fast and reliable.
